This project for an Italian customer called for a floating ball used in a fluid-control assembly. The part had to stay perfectly spherical within a tight tolerance band while resisting corrosion in service.
Engineering focus
We started from the customer drawing and verified material grade, wall thickness, and the interface diameter that controls float height. Roundness and surface finish directly affect sealing behavior, so we planned machining and finishing steps before any volume run.
Manufacturing approach
- Formed the initial blank using our metal spinning capability to achieve a uniform wall section.
- Completed critical diameters and parting surfaces on CNC equipment.
- Applied the specified surface treatment and 100% visual inspection before packing.
Outcome
Sample units passed the customer’s fit and leak checks on the first submission. Production batches have since shipped on a stable schedule with documented dimensions on every lot. If you need similar floating or valve-related metal components, send your drawing to our team.
