This CNC turning project centered on a big bearing-related component used in rotating equipment. The part’s bore and outside diameter had to stay concentric under load, with surface finish suitable for either direct running or press-fit assembly.
Technical challenges
Large diameters increase cutting forces and heat, which can move tolerances if the setup is wrong. We modeled the roughing and finishing passes to remove material efficiently while keeping the part stable on the spindle.
CNC turning process
- Soft-jaw chucking and tailstock support for the full length of the workpiece.
- Separate rough and finish tools to hold size on the critical bearing seats.
- CMM or bore gauge verification on each first-off and periodic in-run checks.
Customer value
Delivered parts met the drawing for roundness and surface roughness, allowing the customer to assemble without extra grinding. Jun Bang continues to support bearing housings, sleeves, and other turned export parts from the same CNC cell. Send your drawing for capacity and lead-time feedback.
